Set reasonable goals for yourself. If you only work for an hour or so each day, don't set yourself the impossible goal of completing a project by the end of the day. That will just lead to tension and stress, and you'll likely give up before you even start.

Set smaller goals that you can actually accomplish, and be sure to celebrate your successes. Sitting at a desk all day long is not only bad for your health, but it's also bad for your brain. Movement helps to keep your brain active and healthy, and it also makes you more alert and mentally agile. So get up and move around every half hour or so and take a walk outside or do some stretching exercises in your office.

Here are some tips for overcoming common desk problems:

Create a workspace plan. Know where everything is and make sure all your materials are within arm's reach.

Get creative with storage solutions. Use baskets, shelving units, or even a Murphy bed to create more space.

Take advantage of natural light. If you can find a way to bring in natural light, it will help you feel more motivated during the day.

Arrange items vertically instead of horizontally. This will maximize your working surface and minimize clutter.
