Differentiating Epoxy Coating From Other Floor Coatings

Typically, floor coatings are applied on the floor to give it life and protection. The main purpose of these coatings is to protect different surfaces from atmospheric pollution and corrosion. With the introduction of new durable materials, more products that are chemical were formulated to enhance the durability and aesthetic appeal of numerous flooring.

Today there are different types of floor coverings that have different levels of resistance and are used for different surfaces. Two good examples of flooring are epoxy and polyurethane.

The epoxy floor coating services are also available in many variations. The easiest way to apply and clean is epoxy paint for concrete. Coatings commonly applied to large industrial floors or warehouses are called industrial epoxy floors.

This coat provides a sleek aesthetic and is odorless and extremely durable. However, this coating is slippery when wet. On the other hand, an epoxy coating that has anti-slip properties and is yellow-brown in color is known as epoxy paint for raw concrete.

This solvent-based coating is thin. Other epoxy coatings use water as a binder. Because it relates to water, this layer is the thinnest and cannot cover cracks in the floor. However, it is ideal for residential flooring as it is easy to use and economical.

Epoxy coating can be considered the most durable floor covering because it easily adheres to concrete floors. Unlike polyurethane, epoxy coatings are not resistant to chemical leakage, making floors too worn and difficult to clean. The durability of this coating makes it the most expensive coating on the market.
