Below are some effective exercises.

Women prefer a toned upper body while men prefer a muscular back. Both men and women can do effective upper back exercises with dumbbell pullovers or dumbbell rows.

Dumbbell Pullover

This exercise requires a narrow bench. Place your upper back and neck on the workbench, with your head pointing over the other end. With your feet on the ground, place one leg on each side of the bench. With your arms extended, lift the dumbbell above your head. Slowly lower the dumbbell above your head, keeping your arms extended. Then, return it to its original position.

Dumbbell Row

The dumbbell should be placed on the right side. Your left leg should rest on the bench. Keep your right foot on the ground. Place your left hand in front of the body by leaning forward. Your back should be horizontal. Grab the dumbbell, raise your arm slowly up until your upper arm meets your upper body. Hold the dumbbell in your hand and return your arm to its original position.

These exercises for the upper back are great for building a strong back and adding to the 'V-shaped' body.
